rvss.eel I purchased this because I want to repeatedly listen to pretty much everything from Lubomyr Melnyk. (sorry - statement of the obvious.) This is no exception, although this recording is unique (in what I have found at least) in that his instrument is not the prominent feature of the mix. I do wish the piano was slightly louder than it is. That said, I have no problem humming along with the elegant, often repetitive strings as they transform through six acts.

=SWALLOWS= is purely Pattern work, and my only pattern piece for String Quartet and Piano. from 1991. It is aetheral and sways in the clouds ... like a massage therapy session....
I ecorded this piece with the Galician String Quartet from Ukraine./Halychyna., in my living room , on my old grand piano, with some very primitive equipmemt, including my SONY F-1 Digital recorder.
The piece is performed in one unbroken line, but is here cut into 6 bits also on the CD, so you can locate some special segment more easily.
Very few people in the world have this album ... To date (2022) I think only about 5 people in the whole world have it, even though it was "released" back in 2005 .. so after 17 years ... five people. Not bad !
But it is, something from high in the sky ! ... more

=SWALLOWS= is my only pattern piece for String Quartet and Piano. from 1991. It was recorded with the Galician String Quartet from Ukraine./Halychyna.. I recorded this in my living room , on my own old grand piano, with some very primitive equipmemt, and a SONY F-1 Digital recorder, the first Digital Recorder ever made, capable of only 16-bit sound, --- but it far outshines the new era studio programs for sound quality.
The Piece itself is really soft and mesmerizing... it flows like a slow winding stream .. it is my love to THE SWALLOWS OF THE AIR .. so if you say my music is "for the birds" . you are right indeed! People who do massage therapy have said it is the best music they have found for background to their sessions.
It is a lovely piece that leaves you floating in the air, .. very high indeed.
